April marks the start of the cycling season. Good reasons to plan a cycling holiday on Rügen:
Rügen offers a very varied landscape and a well-developed and signposted network of cycle paths. For sporty cyclists, there are challenging trails with rapid descents. Many cycle routes are car-free and there are numerous places to stop at every corner.
Since all ferries also carry bicycles, the neighbouring islands, such as Hiddensee, can also be explored with your own bike. Alternatively, bikes or e-bikes can be rented everywhere on Rügen and the neighbouring islands.
Starting from the AQUAMARIS beach residence, beautiful bike tours are possible in every direction. Only one kilometre away, you can take the ferry to Hiddensee at Breege harbour and spend a day exploring the car-free island. The excursion to Cape Arkona is particularly popular with AQUAMARIS guests on the predominantly car-free roads, always with a sea view. A detour with a stop in the fishing village of Vitt is also a good idea.
And in the opposite direction, the Spycker Lakes are a nearby destination. First you take the Baltic Coast Cycle Route in the direction of Glove. Shortly before Glove, you turn right into the magnificent lake landscape.
The beech forest in the Jasmund National Park is also easy to discover by bike. The paths lead either via Sagard or the fishing village of Lohme.
The cycling season runs from April to October, but more and more guests are also making beautiful cycling trips in winter. Of course, this is also a question of the right equipment.
