Today we explore the former fishing village of Lohme
From the AQUAMARIS Strandresidenz, your hotel on Rügen, to the small town of Lohme it is only about 20 km.
By car or bike you go via Schaabe to Glowe, from there to Bisdamiz and you already reach the former fishing village of Lohme. Lohme is located directly on the 50-metre-high cliff at the northern edge of the Jasmund peninsula. Lohme is also the starting point for numerous hiking trails through the Jasmund National Park. The idyllic harbour of Lohme is definitely worth seeing. The harbour nestles romantically against the wooded steep shore. This harbour is one of only three Baltic Sea harbours on Rügen. It is mainly guest moorers who appreciate the convenient harbour entrance and the idyllic location. And they appreciate the proximity to nice places to stop for refreshments, such as the popular fish restaurant “Daheim”, only 300 metres from the harbour. To the Restaurant Daheim in Lohme
After refreshments at “Daheim”, a visit to Ranzow Castle is a good idea. Ranzow is a district of Lohme and the castle is a fine hotel, directly on the golf course. The “fairy-tale castle” with its memorable tower was built in 1900 as a manor house by the Russian State Councillor in Berlin, Paul von Bötticher. From the restaurant “Daheim” it is only 1.3 km to the castle (via Ranzower Weg, which branches off directly from Arkonastraße). To Ranzow Castle
Some guests of the Aquamaris Strandresidenz use Lohme as a destination for a nice bicycle trip. If you don’t want to cycle back the same way, you can cycle back via Sagard and Alt Glowe. This route is about 25 km long.
