Holidays in the natural paradise of the Wittow Peninsul
The Aquamaris beach residence is located on the Wittow peninsula, in the very north of the island of Rügen. The peninsula can only be reached by land from the direction of Jasmund. To do so, you drive over the narrow spit of the Schabe.
The Wittow ferry runs in the south of the peninsula. The journey only takes about 8 minutes and you rarely wait longer than 20 minutes for your departure. Depending on the season, the last departure is between 6.50 and 8.50 pm. If you are planning a late departure or early arrival, it is best to check the Wittower Fähre website.
Perfect for cycling and hiking
The largest places on the island are Breege, Dranske, Altenkirchen and Wiek. Each of these places has its own special features and are definitely worth a visit. Wittow is about 95 km² in size.
It is only about 20 km from the northernmost point of Puttgarten to the Wittow ferry in the south. Our Wittow peninsula can be easily explored by bicycle or even on foot.
The romantic fishing village of Breege, for example, is only a good kilometre away from the Aquamaris Strandresidenz. Attenkirchen, which is almost in the middle of the Wittow peninsula, is about 4 km away and Cape Arkona and the beautiful fishing village of Vitt are only 10 km away.
